01Application
In the process industry double window sight glasses are used as an accessory in the pipeline, or at the inlet or outlet of equipment, to view the process or utility fluid flow. Traditional double window sight glasses have the glass fitted between two flanges. This results in breakage during fitting, or reduced life due to thermal expansion on an already stressed glass. The process fluid also leaks out to atmosphere the instant the inside gasket fails. For these reasons the failure rate of traditional double window sight glasses remains very high.
