01Application
Vent silencers are designed to cut the noise generated by a vent from an elevated pressure to atmospheric pressure. The noise produced is a combination of shock noise generated by the rapid reduction in pressure across the relief device and the noise created by the turbulent downstream flow. The vent silencer consists of an expansion chamber with a vent size inlet and an expanded outlet: the vent steam or gas enters the inlet, expands through a series of chambers with a deflected path, and vents out through the expanded outlet.

- Cut the intrusion of industrial noise into residential areas.
- Suppress noise from safety relief valves and process vents.
- Gas dumping to atmosphere during compressor or boiler set-up.

- Steam exhausts and blow-down of pipelines for cleaning.
